EnterDagen 2022 Oktoberfest
The Enterdagen is a local festival held every four years. Every street (or part of a street if it is very long) chooses a different subject and accordingly will decorate their street in that subject. For our street, this year, it was Oktoberfest. 13th of September untill 17th of September 2022.
History Oktoberfest
The Oktoberfest oftewel het Oktoberfeast is a yearly folk festival, a beer festival. It is celebrated worldwide by millions of people. The origin of this festival lies in Germany, in the state Beieren. The festival always starts on first saturday after september 15th at noon and ends always on the first sunday of Oktober. If the first sunday of Oktober is before Oktober 3rd (day of the German unity) than the festival is extented to Oktober 3rd. The whole festival takes in total 16 to 18 days. The very first festival was cellebrated in 1810 in honor of the wedding of Theresien van Saksen Hildburghausen who married King Ludwig from Beieren. The festival is celebrated on a special meadow not far from the centre of Munich. The first barrel of beer is hit by the mayor of Munich. The dresscode is leather pants (lederhose) and a dirndl dress (dirndl).
